January Reading Journal- The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland
I've just started this month's book, The Owl Killers and I can already tell I am going to be obsessed! :D Basically the story revolves in 1321 in the village Ulewic around a group of women who are intending to revolt against The Owl Masters, a club sworn in secrecy who serve under a law of fiery and horrifying rituals. Their is a large weight of lies and deceit in this story which always intrigues me, I find manipulation fascinating.
December Reading Journal- Eragon by Christopher Paolini
So for November I felt inspired to reread one of my most beloved books, Eragon. Just to clarify I have read this story about 12 times not including the amount of times I have seen the movie.... anyways so the plot begins with a very poor boy; Eragon finding a smooth, blue stone in the forest. At first he believes he may have finally struck it rich but soon realized it contained a dragon hatchling, and in turn a legacy belonging to the Empire. He is thrust into this spiral staircase of danger and a King who's evil knows no bounds. In the end he must take up as leader of the Dragon Riders.
I really enjoyed this story purely because its extremely captivating and full of a good vocabulary without being overly wordy and its a nice easy read that I can finish in a few hours.
